WELCOME
Welcome to my website. I hope
you enjoy my art and will visit
often to see what's new.
I am a native Houstonian and
have studied art at a number of
places including the University
of Texas at Austin, The Glassell
School, the Art League of
Houston, and the Konigs Schule
in the Hague, the Netherlands.
I've also made art using almost
every medium available and
have settled on my favorite: oil
paints.
My art training has a foundation
of traditional methods. My
favorite artists include John

Painting from life
It is so important to paint from life to see and
learn the subtle colors that make up flesh tones.
This is an example of a painting done from life.
These 'practice' paintings are usually done in a
three hour session with breaks for the model
every 20 minutes.
This is Gloria, she's a lovely woman that models
here in Houston. I think her profile is very regal. I
have a beautiful velvet and taffeta ball gown that
would be stunning on her, one of these days I'll
hire her and paint her in that dress. She's on my
ever-increasing list of paintings to paint. Seems I
can't paint fast enough to paint everything I would
love to paint.
Singer Sargent, Edouard Vuillard, Pierre Bonnard, Richard Diebenkorn, and Van Gogh. And
Pierre-Auguste Renoir for the absolute charm in his paintings.
I find people to be the most fascinating subjects and above all they are my favorite subject to paint. I
paint from life (live model) when I can.
I believe we are all blessed with some form of creativity. I feel fortunate to have discovered my gift and
have the time to pursue it.
I do most of my work in my studio in Houston, Texas. (I use the term "studio" loosely, but it serves it's
purpose. One of these days I'll add a photo of my studio to this website.)
